Boys ' Varsity Cross Country finished another successful season undefeated, with a record of 10-0. It won the Bay League title and ranked fifth in CIF. Competition. The season increased its record to three and a half years with- out a loss, and only two defeats in eight years. I was very proud of the team, stated Coach Bob Latham. Captains for the teams were Tim Downs and Diane Harrell, the first girl captain. Awards for the Varsity boys were given to Dave Hoff for Most Valuable Player, Tim Downs for Athlete-of-the-Year Nominee, and Tom Sage for Most Improved Runner of the team. The team was a young team, so next year there will be a lot of returning runners. Captains for that team will be Graham Cumming, Dave Hoff, and Susan Kattlove. Finishing its season, the Boys ' Junior Varsity cross country team achieved a strong record of 8-2. Both of its loses were by one point. It placed second in the tough Bay League competition. It was a strong running squad, with the Most Valuable player award for the Junior Varsity going to Mike O ' Rourke. STRAINING TO MAINTAIN HIS LEAD over his opponent is Drew Flood.
