Palos Verdes High School ' s Tridette Drill Team swept up sweepstakes at every band review in which they competed. The Tridettes also received first place and Specialties Award at every parade and field show competi- tion. In addition to attending many other competitions, such as Miss Drill Team USA, they also turned out several entertaining halftime shows. Both the Drill Team and Banner Unit performed at the Penninsula Music Fair, the annual Disneyland Christmas parade, and the pre-game Christmas show at a Ram ' s game. Palos Verdes Vocal Music Department welcomed a new director, Mark Landford. Both the students and the new director adjusted quickly and kept up the department ' s polished reputation for being one of the best. All the groups presented very successful concerts and various special performances. Chorale performed at private parties, at the 2nd annual Jazz Festival in San Fransisco, and at several other music festivals. They also made a very successful tour of colleges in Northern California. Concert choir made their annual visit to Disneyland and sang with groups from other schools in the Christmas Pagent. All the groups helped fill the year with enjoyable concerts.
