Drama III plays around with God ' s Favorite God ' s Favorite under the direction of Chip Hipkins was presented by the Drama Department. It was a great success. Members of drama III partici- pate in Story Theatre, in drama festivals, and in Drama III in the Round. Thespians is the international drama association for two year drama and stagecrew students. Under the leader- ship of Chip Hipkins, the group sponsored many drama festivals. Stage, sound, and lighting crews worked all year long, producing two of the drama department ' s finest productions ever. Starting the season off was a new Neil Simon comedy, God ' s Favorite, and wrapping up the school year was that perennial favorite, Man of La Mancha. Highly acclaimed were the explosion from God ' s Favorite and the dungeon ramp from Man of La Mancha. Jazz Dancers and Orchesis keep in step with the music Jazz Dancers: Front Row: Debbie Weinstein, Claudia Pellecer, Kelly Mills, Linda Pozzuoli, Lisa Raphael. 2nd Row: Jill Dorn. Mimi Dia, Stephanie Whittaker, Sherryl White, Emily Arm s, Nan Vaughn, Tracy Cordova, Shanda Southgate, Beth Bloore, Anne Roller, Sousie Dia. Jazz Dancers is a performing group which choreographs their own routines every year. Highlighting the dance show, the Jazz Dancers routine demonstrated talent and imagination throughout the unique accompaniment of the B-52 ' s, Planet Claire. Orchesis, the modern dance honorary at Palos Verdes High School consists of almost 40 members. Among its purposes are providing leadership and nurturing interest in dance activities. During the year, guest experts taught master lessons. Orchesis, a very talented group presented its 19th annual dance concert in May. Madelyn Bilkey, who has provided leadership for Jazz Dancers and Orchesis for 19 years commented, The audience response was repeatedly in praise of the level of professionalism displayed by the dancers. - v ■V ' A St : t ., V ?- N %.
