Stage, sound, and lighting crews worked all year long, producing two of the drama department ' s finest productions ever. Starting the season off was a new Neil Simon comedy, God ' s Favorite, and wrapping up the school year was that perennial favorite, Man of La Mancha. Highly acclaimed were the explosion from God ' s Favorite and the dungeon ramp from Man of La Mancha. Clubs debate best movies and plays Forensics, one of the oldest clubs, had a truly stupendous year, winning many events. A few include a first in Dramatic Interpretation at two tournaments, second overall in Debate, and a third in Original Events, Especially outstanding were Robert Azar and Adam Gilburne. A new club, the Movie Making Club, had a vigorous start, producing a science-fiction adventure film called New Beginnings and starting a second film to be completed in the fall . Drama III plays around with God ' s Favorite God ' s Favorite under the direction of Chip Hipkins was presented by the Drama Department. It was a great success. Members of drama III partici- pate in Story Theatre, in drama festivals, and in Drama III in the Round. Thespians is the international drama association for two year drama and stagecrew students. Under the leader- ship of Chip Hipkins, the group sponsored many drama festivals.
