TfUu €U€icdie PUcfe Blood, sweat and tears is the only suitable way to describe Dick Mansperger, the Pirates ' Most Valuable Player. His great play and outstanding sportsmanship earned him an All-Con- ference berth two consecutive years. Dick, rather light for a guard at 170 pounds, nevertheless made up for it in ruggedness and aggressiveness. He was at his best when the chips were down. Always a conditioned ball player, he was one of the Pirates ' 60-minute men. Very few possess the qualities and initiative that Dick has. That is why the coaches and players proclaimed him as being truly a ball play- er ' s ball player. Despite his terrorizing play on the field, he is a gentleman in every respect. His modesty and unselfishness have won him the admiration of everyone who knows him. Dick is very interested in the field of military science, and would like to continue his education at West Point.
