MRS. EVELYN KIZER Senior Counselor To the Class of 1950: You have the distinction of graduating at the middle of the twentieth century. Almost all of you will live, no doubt, to see this century pass and another arrive fresh and new at a time when you have reached or passed the apex of your careers. As I sit here on a cold March evening penning this farewell to you, a vision passes before me, and I See several famous persons among you: I see many of you, although not so famous, doing fine things and making your contributions in your communities and homes. Last but not least I see a tremendous group of parents struggling with problems of adolescent sons and daughters, while another group looks smugly on because they have already passed that hurdle. In that vision I see the age-old problems still to be solved. To you, Class of 1950, I wish success and happiness in the solving of these coming problems. Sincerely, SD-LQA.KYU :Mo EVELYN KI ZER

SENIOR CLASS HISTORY We have reached the halfway mark in the century. We are closing behind us fifty years of history and opening fifty years of future. The day of graduation is quite similar in that We are pushing our childhood days behind us and looking forward to a full adult life. But let's look back for a few minutes on our three years at Paly. During those years the thoughtful guidance of Mrs. Kizer, our counselor, helped us pursue our school activities. Sophomore class officers Dick Herndon, Iudy Cleaver, Mary Lee- Billings, and Barbara Green held the reins of rule and planned the Carnival as our class party. The arrival of the class rings created quite a stir in our lunior year. In spring there was the Iunior party, with swimming, volleyball, and dancing. Martha Brown represented us at Girls' State, and Bill Northway was chosen for Boys' State. Class officers Were: Steve Bennett, Gloria Wright, and Iirn Cornish. At last we had acquired the dignity of being seniors. Fine leaders, athletes, scholars, and musi- cians gave credit to their school and class. Steve Bennett, Margie McCall, Ioanne Peterson, and Virginia Cox were class officers. The production of DEAR RUTI-l f was a highlight of our senior year. And then we looked forward to Senior Week, with the Senior Party, the Com- mencement Formal, and finally, Graduation. ,- L - . - 'ui
