OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL PALO ALTO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA To the Class of 1950: In these closing days of your high school career, most of you are probably so involved in the activities of commencement week and the sense of anticipated relief at getting out of high school that the real importance of high school graduation is receiving little atten- tion. High school graduation is important to you and will appear more important with the passing of years. Paly manages to keep rather close contact with many of its graduatesg we should like to do so with all of you. Whether you go on to further education or go direct- ly into some form of employment, we should like each of you to feel our continued interest in you. We are inclined to believe that we know about what each of you will do as to quality of performance after you leave high schoolg naturally we base this on your performance here. We could be very mistaken in individual cases. Unless the class of 1950 is an excep- tion to the long list of Paly classes of previous years, about eighty per cent of you will continue to perform as you have in high school, another thirteen per cent will do poorer, and only about seven per cent will do better. To which of these groups you belong ought to be a question of very personal concern to each of you. But regardless of this classification by future performance, we shall always be inter- ested in your achievements and your problems. Come back to Paly and tell us about them. The best wishes of the faculty and students ac- company my own wish for the very best of good fortune for each of you. Very sincerely, Nffaqay Principal MR. LINDER, PRINCIPAL
