Following fhis, Hod Ray senf his fwenfies and fhirfies fo San Mafeo. These received a fhorough frouncing before fhey refurned. Nexf fhe woefully undermaned squad losf fo Sequoia's Cherolcees in fheir lasf dual meef of fhe year. Only fen lighfweighf feam members qualified in fhe frials for fhe P. A. L. finals. Of fhese, Cafhcarf, Breeden, Anderson, Davis, and Tamplin received fheir leffers. Cafhcarf and Breeden, bofh fhirfies men, placed in fhe broad jump and high iump, respecfively. Breeden fied for firsf in his evenf. ln fhe fwenfies division, Chesfer Anderson, fhe only place man, won fhe discus. Two fens placed: Davis in fhe broad jump and high iump, and Tamplin in fhe fiffy. The only lighfweighf fo place in fhe N. C. S. meef was Anderson, who won fhe discus wifh a foss of 47' 7 . Dependable men fhis season were Anderson, Cafhcarf, Davis, Tamplin, Brownfield, Breeden, and Mueller. 77

L. over 'lheir nearesl' compefilor, Sequoia: fhen lhey lraveled fo Secramenfo on lheir yearly 'lrip and cleaned up on Sacramenlo High, 50-I5, and Granl Union High, 52-I3. The only defeal suffered by +he. Palywogs was in 'l'he annual Nor+h Coasl' Seclion meer, which +hey dropped by a very narrow margin l5I-4-Il fo Berkeley High, fhe o+her feams noi' ranking al' all. From fhe ouflook now, il' seems fha? This remarkable record of four A meels won in a row will be confinued 'lhrough nexl' year. 'I'rials Paly quali- fied +wen'l'y-five men. Of These, lhree look firsl places in 'rhe finals. They were Nash, Whipple, and Mumby.
