However, in spite of this general belief, the Council of the Class of 1938 was a very active and important body. For the first time the only ambition of the Senior Class Council was to create a better class and a better school. With this incentive, the Council did very commendable work. With Mrs. McCully acting as adviser, many intricate problems were discussed, such as a class gift that would be of value to the future, caps and gowns for graduation, the theme of the Madrono, and the Senior Honor Cards. Every problem was considered by the Council with the same sincerity. ©WDR 19
