l Every Superintendent has his own way of doing things. They may not be better, but they are dif- ferent. The faculty mem- bers and students have a- dapted themselves well to the whims of this super- intendent. For this, I am grateful. We teachers want to make your school expe- rience worth remember- ing. We are working toward a balanced school pro- gram--a program which recognizes each depart- ment as an integral part of your whole school ex- perience. Last, and most important of all, we want to help each pupil find his or her place in the sun. Fortified with respect for huma.n dignity andatrue sense of their own worth, the pupils of Palmyra can make their school experience worth remembering. Donald R. Hevel Superintendent of Schools Board Of Education The Palmyra Board of Education is composed of the following civic-minded citizens: Glendel Greening ................... President Stephen Dearing ................. Vice-President H. Dean Cissna . . . Secretary Floyd Edwards . . Treasurer Herb Foster Elmer Lovegreen The Board of Education was organized differently than it has been in the past. Business is now done by committees. The duties of Stephen Dearing and Glendel Greening, members of the Teachers' Committee, are to interview prospective teachers and to review the work of the present teachers, making recommendations to the Board. The Buildings and Grounds Committee, composed of H, Dean Cissna and Elmer Lovegreen, inspects the buildings and grounds, seeing that they're kept in a good state of repair. The duties of the Finance Committee, Herb Foster and Floyd Edwards, are to provide the necessary revenue to operate the school and to review activity funds and other accounts, seeing that they're being properly expended. The Board feels that this type of arrangement will provide more efficient management of the school and reduce the time required for board meetings, We would like to thank these men who give their time to the important business of managing our school,
