ROSS SWOFFORD BETTY RUTH WHARTON Sponsor Secretary President - Marty Schevellng Vice-President - Ierry Shear Secretary - El sie Marquart Treasurer - Peggy Yates Reporter - JoAnn Hoerr Student Council Girl - Rosemary Hoerr Student Council Boy - Nick Unlenbrock C. B. Keller was elected by the Student Body to serve as Vice-President of the Student Council. Our attendants to the queens were as follows: Football - Donna Chamberlain and Rosemary Hoerr, Barnwarmlng - Betty Ruth Wharton, and Basket- ball - Joyce Bremmer. Nomran Hoerr was selected to go to Boys' State . The Iuniors presented the play Old Doc under the direction of Mrs . Cramer which was enjoyed by all. One of the biggest events of the year was the selection of our class rings, of which we are very proud. And the biggest event was the Junior-Senior Prom. On May 4, 1956 we were transported to Gay Paree and dined at Sidewalk Cafes on food fit for gourmands. Music was provided by Maurice Menge's orchestra . Ohl what a delightful time we had. It was the at- mosphere of romance and intrigue and our entertainment carried out the theme. We Seniors entered P.H . S. for our final year in September of '56. We selected Mrs. Maize and Mr. Swofford as our class sponsors. Our officers of the year are: President - Leo Hirner Vice-President - Ronald Iones Secretary - Betty Ruth Wharton Treasurer - Maureen Beckgerd Reporter - Mary Katherine Keller Parliamentarian - C. B. Keller Student Council Girl - Dixie Burditt Student Council Boy - Gary Million The biggest project of this year was the editing of the Search- light. Norman Hoerr was elected Editor, and Shirley Lumpe was elected Assistant Editor: Marty Scheveling Business Manager. Dixie Burditt was chosen Searchlight Queen and Ralph Budde was chosen Searchlight King. Attendants were. Sally Donelson, Betty Wharton, Ronnie Iones, and Mac Feld. The Football Queen was Marty Chatfield, Ianet Walton and Ioyce Bremmer were at- tendants. Maureen Beckgerd was Bamwarming Queen and Mary Kathering Keller was attendant. Donna Chamberlain was Basket- ball Queen and Shirley Lumpe was the attendant. Betty Io Tate was chosen as Valentine Queen. Other events sponsored by the Senior Class were the Senior Play, called Gown of Glory and the Senior Trip to the Lake of the Ozarks . At last the long a- waited day Commencement, arrived.

KELLER Reporter GARY MILLION Student Council Boy Seniors As graduation neared the cries of Seniors varied from I wish I were a Freshman again, to Thank goodness . Sixty entered high school together with only fifty-one graduating . For many of us, this is the last year we shall be together. As Seniors we have shared many events--parties informal dances initiations and the Proms . Regardless of where we may wander, near or far away, we can look back on these pages and say Gee I remember her or him, I used to date her or him During our Freshman year we were led by the following officers President Dan Hampton Vice President Jerry Shear Secretary Phyllis Pollitt Treasurer Dixie Burditt Student Council Girl Ianet Walton Student Council Boy C B Keller Mrs McClain and Mr Hager served as our Freshman class sponsors The Freshmen won first prize in the float contest in the Home coming parade . Our attendants for queensduring the year were Football - Clarice Menge, and Peggy Yates, Barnwarming f Barbara Kruse, Basketball - Darlene Iuette. In September of 1954, we entered Palmyra High for our second year. We elected Mrs. Westmoreland and Mrs. Schuckenbrock as our sponsors. Our class officers were as follows: President - Norman Hoerr Vice-President - Mac Feld Secretary - Donna Chamberlain Treasurer - Darlene Iuette Reporter - Shirley Lumpe Student Council Girl - Betty Wharton Student Council Boy - Jerry Shear We initiated the Freshmen and entertained them with a party. Our attendants to queens during the year were: Football - Elsie Marquart and Donna Chamberlain, Barnwarming - Peggy Yates. Peggy Yates was selected as Carnival Queen with Betty Io Tate as attendant. Norman Hoerr was chosen for the Sophomore Pilgrimage . We as Jolly Juniors entered the portals of Palmyra High for the third year. Our sponsors were, Mrs . McClain and Coach Kellett. The following officers were elected: MAIZE
