Glam September 2, 1947 - Seventy-eight Freshmen entered the portals of Pal- myra High for the first time. During the ensuing four years 21 members have left our ranks for marriage, the armed forces or jobs but we added eight more mem- bers to our group. Beginning our freshman year we participated in all of the usual school events, freshman initiation and parties and then our sophomore year we had our change for retaliation. These two years passed and we had our share of honor. Then our Junior year we began to accomplish bigger and better things. In the fall we gave our Junior Play, Faith, Hope and Flarity and breathed a real sigh of relief as the final curtain fell. In the spring we entertained the seniors with an Evening at the Circus? Prom. Music for dancing was furnished by Carl Landrum's Orches- tra. lt was a gala evening with every one looking their best in white shirts and beautiful formals. On Sept. 11, sixty-five seniors started their final year in Palmyra High. We were the largest Senior class in the history of Palmyra High. We elected as our officers-Oney Shade, Presidentg Jane Yarborough, vice- presidentg Marjorie Million, secretary, Catherine Bode, treasurerg and Teresa Shade as our reporter. Our sponsors are Joe Dull and Margaret Maize. The Seachlight was our biggest task of the year and as soon as classes were organized we elected Edna Barber as our Editor in Chief. The book was financed by sales, advertising and various money making activities. Of course we are all looking forward to Baccalaureate and Commencement. Our class has been prominent in leadership, loyalty, and school spirit and have proven themselves in every way to be fit and fine citizens of the community. We leave our school with many fine memories and many fine friends. We want to take this space to wish the classes that follow our steps all the success and happiness possible.
