F.H.A.'s 25th Year A Busy One In Palmyra This was a year of busy and profitable activity for the Pal myra chapter of the Future Homemakers of America, mark- ing the 25th anniversary of FHA. The girls, along with the FFA, sponsored the annual Christmas Ball. Betty Wood and Randy Hansen reigned over the affair. Officers for the 1969-'70 year were: JEAN BEEC HAM ----------------- President KAYE BALDWIN ------------- Vice-President SHERRI MEY ERS - - ----- Secretary BETTY wooD ----- ------ T reasurer MARLENE GARTNER - - - - Parliamentarian CONNIE NELSON - - - -------- Historian VICKI LAWTON ---- - - - Publicity Chairman SHARON BEECHAM - - - - - -Degree Chairman DIANE MAY ------ -------- S ong Leader NANCY MEYERS --------- Recreation Chairman In her first year at Palmyra, Mrs. JoAnn Bartek fabove lefty served as the FHA advisor. At the left is pictured Pa1myra's FHA President, Jean Beecham, and Mrs. Bartek being greeted at the White House by the First Lady, Mrs. Richard Nixon. Jean served as Na- tional Reporter during the 1969-'70 year, and was in Washing- ton, D.C. attending the fall Executive Council Meeting, October 6-8, 1969. Q! 29

if.-Ei E fl I , I FFA Is Successful The FFA is the richest organization in the school. Each year the FFA holds a Pancake and Slave Sale. This year they brought in approximately S600 to add to their growing treasury. The boys also helped the FHA put on the FHA-FFA Crystal Ball and elected a King and Queen for the event. This year Randy Hansen and Betty Wood were chosen for the honors. The FFA is very active in county and state affairs in judging and participation in shows.
