Each year the FFA holds a Pancake and Slave Sale. This year they brought in approximately S600 to add to their growing treasury. The boys also helped the FHA put on the FHA-FFA Crystal Ball and elected a King and Queen for the event. This year Randy Hansen and Betty Wood were chosen for the honors. The FFA is very active in county and state affairs in judging and participation in shows. The Palmyra Panthers finished the 1969 season with a 4-4 record. Starting the season with a com- bination of light linemen and relatively inexperienced backs, Coach Isernhagen also faced the problem of only four returning lettermen. A1- though the basketball record wasn 't perfect, it was one the boys could be proud of. During tournament play the boys brought home a third place trophy. They first defeated the Nehawka ball club, only to be turned back the next night by Nemaha Valley on a last second shot. Palmyra took third place by downing Elmwood, a team that had previously beaten them during regular season. For the girls it was a year of learning Having only two returning from last year's team, Coach Knobel was faced with rebuilding a volleyball team. The girls topped off the volleyball season with a second-place trophy from the Palmyra P-Club Invitational Tour- nament.
