District 1 1 offers a summer travel program to Europe. Each year forty students are carefully screened and granted permission to participate in the program. It is an opportunity to learn, to travel and to experience. Palmer students J ancie Ellis, Lisa Bingman, and Laurie Blanz participated in the 1975 program. Their travels took them to Madrid, Rome, Florence, Salzburg, Berlin, Paris, and London. They encountered a variety of experiences: Spanish paellag escargotg the hovercraftg the Berlin Wall, and colorful people. To travel is to experience. It is the opportunity to reach out to other people and their culturesg to discover oneself. It was a beautiful experience. It was exciting. I loved it! I'd do it again. People are really wonderful. 25
