God's Own Country In a world devastated by the horrors of war, famine, poverty, racial antagonism, slums, ruined countrysides and ever increasing pollution of rivers, lakes, seas and even the air we breathe, the accomplishments of New Zealand - this little Giant in the South Pacific - deserves to be broadcast fat and wide as an example of what can still be done by men of Vision and good will working together for common good. The first thing that strikes every visitor to the country has to be its sheer physical beauty. From towering volcanic peaks, glaciers plummeting with breathtaking magnif- icence to the very edge of primeval bush, through subtropical forests and peaceful mountain lakes to the sparkling golden beaches and wooded coastal bays. Here the grass grows all the year round, sheep and cattle graze in the open twelve months of the year. New Zealand is a land of plenty. Fresh meat, fruits, vegatables, and dairy pro- ducts fill every market, every table. The look of good health radiates from the faces of the people, especially the children. New Zealanders are hardworking independent and hardplaying. They are proud, con- fident and informed. The envy no one. They have achieved by their own efforts what they set out to do. It is a country where democracy isn't talked about much, simply because it has pene- trated so far into the national way of life. New Zealanders believe that human dignity is a basic human right and that everyone who makes some sort of contribution to society is equal in worth to everyone else. The successful integration of the native maoris and a very cautious immigration policy have made racial problems virtually non-existant. In this country of blue skies, where 3 million people enjoy latitude, without extremes of heat or cold, and an almost ideal balance of rain and sunshine, Chiropractic is thriv- ing. Government licensure has protected and defined Chiropractic as early as 1960. Presently, moves at Government levels are being completed to include the Chiropractors services in the nations free Social Health Scheme. Almost 907, of New Zealand'sXChiro- practors received their training at Palmer College of Chiropractic and return to the Fountainhead frequently at Homecoming. All this sounds too good to be true? lt's right mate, ask any kiwi!!!
