1963 Cmpfwwm. . Everything grows. Trees grow, rivers grow, ani- mals grow, people grow. Yet everything grows differently. And when does something obtain its personality? During its early existence. This applies from the Mississippi river to apple trees to kittens. But let's talk about people. Youth is the most im- portant time of all. lt's then that you choose your goals and ideals. When you're young, you develop your own char- acter. Acorns into tremendous oaks, puddles into surg- ing rivers. Young animals into old, as we, the youth of today, searching and seeking, grow into tomor- row's adults. Li Siegel Emerging from the roots of our society, youth has progressed and found its place. With boundless ener- gy and a striving for individuality, the young are anxious to succeed. Whether casual or sophisticated, youth is a very special time in our lives. Even through times of tur- moil and uncertainty, the freshness and vitality of this period shines through. This time of learning ac- cented with bliss and a dignity of its own, is the be- ginning of the future and the long road ahead. Cynthia Marci Shimmering sand dunes, glowing from the moon's reflection, make up an amazingly beautiful desert scene. It is from these roots that our present generation has grown and prospered. Each going his different way into a glorious or perhaps treacherous future. But they will always be indebted to the edu- cation received in this school, and this, their town. The town will grow and prosper. And, as they return to their city, whether to visit or reside, they reminisce over the' beautiful desert, in which they spent their youth. Gail Rector H
