As we remember Palm Beach Hugh School our thoughts turn to Mrs Marguerite Sav age head of the sophomore English Department Coming here from Lynchburg Vurgunua un T934 Mrs Savage has taught at P B H S for twenty fuve years During her teachung career Mrs Savage shared un the growth of our school from uts very meager beginning to the beautuful educatuonal structure ut us today She has seen the enrollment increase from eught hundred ten to a recent hugh of one thousand nune hundred seventy two and a growth un the faculty from a staff of twenty seven to that of nunety one Mrs Savage has won the respect and admuratuon of all those wuth whom she has come un contact She has unstututed many phases of life on the Hull among these being the very helpful early morning study hall and the beautuful plantings ot banana trees traveler many classes at Palm Beach Hugh School and has been an actuve member of the P TA Through her many years of teachung she has attained the phenomenal record of havung been absent from school only thurty seven days Along wuth her brulluant career Mrs Sav age has also been actuve un communuty affaurs She us a member of the Furst Presbyteruan Church and holds membershup un Delta Kappa Gamma an honorary educatuonal sororuty and Theta Sugma Phu an honorary uournalusm organuzatuon The warm smule and fruendly manner of thus remarkable teacher have auded and un spured many students to choose the rught road un later lufe As long as Palm Beach Hugh School stands the memory of her wull remaun a shunung example for all to follow Wuth grateful and suncere apprecuatuon we deducate thus T960 Royal Palm to you Mrs Mar guerute Savage palms, and fishtail palms in the patios of the Main Building.
