Although our class was comparatively small, being only 288 in number, we proved ourselves mighty. Under the wise supervision of Miss Caroline Oliver, the sponsor, and tiene Trout, the president, we had as successful a year as any Sophomore Class is expected to have. Other officers were: Kenneth lirikson, vice-presidentg jimmy Cox, secretary, and Howard Hall, treasurer. In the spring our tasks as green horns were brought to a close with a most appro- priate beach party celebrating the end of our hrst lap as Hhigh school students. The election ol superlatives was as follows: Eva .Io Woodruff and Gene Trout, most popular, Jane XYarwick and Howard Hall, best lookingg ller Cook and jimmy Cox, best all-round, and XVinifred Platt and Kenneth Erikson, most athletic. During our .lunior year of 1938, we' settled down to the business of showing Palm lieach lligh what we could really do. XVith Miss Caroline Oliver and tiene Trout again as our leaders, we proved ourselves to be something besides jitterbugs. This is what we did: The only football parade of the year was sponsored by the junior Class. The blunior Class play, China Roy, directed by Miss Myra Wiley, was successfully presented in April. Frank Lucius had the leading part and was supported by lirances Twitty, Henry Laney, Clyde XVindham, Bobby Prior, Shirley Curtis. Another victory for the juniors was the selection of their superlatives for the year 1Q38-3Q. The title of the most popular girl and boy was given to Eva jo XYoodrutT and Buddy Dickinson. The best looking girl and boy were jane War- wick and Bill Brainard, while the honor of being the best all-round girl and boy was given to Ifrances Twitty and Henry Herpel. X'Vinifred Platt and Kenneth lirikson were chosen the most athletic. Late in the spring we held an unusual party for the Seniors. We hope to do even more for Palm Beach High School to remember us by next year. XYQXTCH US Gil!! -RAYMOND CORWIN. f-. F. , F 2 ,J , X! -1 .I ff ff W f ' 9 f MRS. Mr. Long brought samples of annuals and, after niuch consideration, the contract was renewed with this company. By niuch zealous work on the part of the business manager an all-time record was set in the subscriptions, the total being 459. The hrst of February saw the beginning of the tremendous task of photographing the students, f21Cl1l'fy, school, athletics, and clubs.
