Pictures taken on the film of time. A wall of noise built by students in love with their lives and completely aware of it. Merely by their existence, young people, part of a moving sequence of pictures for but a brief moment of time, add to the phenomena of life. Cheering a team, running to class, going to a dance, wandering the halls—all this has been ex- posed on the endless film of time. All the records are carefully stored. The trivialities and the profundities, the avid participa- tion and the routine indifference. “Time! Time! Time! See what’s become of me!” (Us) —Paul Simon 5 7 Sr. Hedwig. S.A.C. Heligion. The Smath Club, revived after a long absence, was the gathering place for the real “brains.” Con- ducting experiments in the lah seemed to be the favorite pastime of the mad scientists. 20 National Honor Society President Vice President Secretary . .. Pure as the Driven Snow, not only acquainted many Seniors with each other, it also revealed a lot of hidden talent. Ok, Rick, watch what happens when I pull this string!” Harianne O’Rourke and Rick Murday re- hearse for ‘‘Once Upon a Mattress.” Chuck Goodman, top of next page, also appeared in the musical. 22 'What did you say was coming up?! The Senior retreat marked a wonderful milestone in the lives of most of the students. Here they were given an insight into their lives and in that of others around them. 23 Pal-O-Times Ed. C. C. Lusk Asst. Eds. Kathy Plazak Denise Kenney Exchange Ed. Ellen Sinnard Proofreader Cathy Delnore Moderator Mr. Repass Publications at Pallotti keep the student body aware of the many activities that are constantly going on here. Besides letting people ill on events, the newspaper gives inside information concerning various students and teachers, while the yearbook devotes most of its time to discovering the behind the scene excitement of Pal- lotti’s everyday existence. Invi- tational Relays. The basketball team played a fantastic season, with 17 wins and six losses. Eric Ruppert broke Pallotti’s rceord by making 30 rebounds in one game. Ben Culbreth broke a record, too, scoring 38 points in one game. Varsity Basketball Co-Captain .... Eric Ruppert Co-Captain ... Ben Culbreth Coach .. Mr. Marion Vann Track Coach Mr. Robert Ryerson 29 Jay Vee Basketball 30 English History The English department saw the introduction of new courses, such as Honors English, speech and drama. The Social Studies department also had something new— namely, Mr. Repass, Fr. Almeida, and a new course called Eastern Cultures. 32 J Learning a language can be very frustrating, but it is often an enlightening experience. To understand when someone speaks in German or French gives almost as great a thrill as being able to converse with someone in that language. Religion and Languages Another new fine arts course was drama. Impro- vising and conversing in gibberish were some of this class’s highlights. The art classes were also very active, decorating the main bulletin board and creating a psychedelic mural. 35 For (hose students who find busines admin- istration interesting, there’s always typing and shorthand. For those who enjoy more difficult subjects, there are algebraic equations to be solved. Business 36 38 Freshmen Eileen Blackman (Pres.) Molly Baker (V.P.) Ruth DeLauney (Sec.)
