Dean Mahaffey and Clifford Roller left us the first se- mester and Lilamae Hart returned the last month of the school year. Those who didn't return from last year are Clyde Clayton Burns and Leota Mae Lewis. The Class President is Dean Fergusong Vice President, George Long, Secretary, Eva Follett, and Treasurer, Don Meyers. We have no colors or motto. .. 11 ....

In September, 1938 we started our High School career as Upper Classmenn, with a class roll of 19. On Sept. 12 we chose the following officers: President .......... ......, R oberta Rice Vice President .... ...... T ommy Sailors Secretary ....... ....... . Marjorie Bailey Treasurer ................. ,. ............................................ Viron Baxter The Colors-Blue and Gold. Our Motto-- The elevator to suc- cess is not running-take the stairs. Our Flower-Daisy. Cn March 26, 1939 the class lost one of its best members-- Perley Butler was burned to death. Three additions were also made since the second semester began. Those were Helen and Phyllis Stewart from Culbertson and Jo-hnnie Gage from Hayes Center. . On November 30, 1938 the Junior Class presented their play, The Tangled Yarn under the direction of Miss Reilly.

On Sept. 5, 1938, 21 Freshmen started on their High School careerp They were: Opal Brown, Laureda Carse, Arnold Egle, Don Ferguson, George Corner, Bette Sallade, Durward Phelps, Herbert Brunkhorst, Don Follett, Don Schroeder, Darrol Carse, Eileen Lawless, Duane Bristow, Jean Furse, Dorothy Oswalt, Harry Petsch, Neal Fugate, Duane Carey, Shirley Premer, Eloise Carter and Vonda Graves. On Sept. 12, we held our first class-meeting. Miss Schnitter was made our sponsor. V o nda Graves Treasurer ........................................................ .Don Ferguson Neal Fugate was elected Freshman representative for the Student Council. Our colors are Navy Blue and Gold. Our motto is Cut of the harbors into deep channels. Our flower is- the Iris. During the first semester Opal Brown left us due to an accident. In the second semester Vonda Graves moved to Denver, Colorado. Elsie Gage and Ardith Stewart joined us during the second semester. Elsie coming from Hayes Center and Ardith from Culbertson. , Altogether our Freshman year has been successful and we believe that we were no greener than the Freshies that have gone before us.
