PANTHER Class Histor The class of '39 entered school September 1935, with an enrollment of 29, those being Verdon Merrell, Phillip Schluckebier, Bob Ward, Bernice Endres, Lester Guinn, Dorothy Johnson, Wilma Bridgmon, Gertrude Taplin, Vernadeen Colby, Bob Head, Dortha Bauer, Audrey Merritt, Leona Burton, Fay Schreffler, Irene Smith, Helen Lemmel, Virgil McClatchey, Ivan Henze, Floyd Boehler, Tommy French, Wilbur Barlow, Edward Bristow, Wilma Tucker, Glen Waterman, Clifford Roller, Dale Conyers, and Winston Lumpkin. The class officers were: President, Phillip Schlucke- bierg Vice President, Dortha Bauer, Secretary and Treasurer, Bob Ward. The class sponsor was Mr. Delno Davis CCoachj.' Superintendent Mr. L. A. Sphepard. In September 1936 the Sophomore class entered school, with an enrollment of 23. Five new members enrolled: Mary Frances Gilbert, John Chambers, Lois Wil- liams, Floyd Stinson and Orville Bartels. The class officers were: President, Bob Wardg'Vice President, Mary Frances Gilbert: Secretary and Treasurer, Dorothy Johnson. The motto was: The higher we climb, the broader our view. Class flower, Snapdragong Colors, black and orange. The class sponsor was Mr. Wm. Hauser QCoachJ. Superintendent Mr. H. B. Christianson. ' In September 1937 a class of 22 including 3 new members entered school, the new members being Lucille O'Neil, Loren Herrick and Virgil Mahaffey. Officers were: President, Bob Ward, Vice President, Phillip Schluckebierg Secretary, Dortha Bauer, Treasurer, Vernadeen Colby. The class sponsor was Mr. Le Roy Hood. Superintendent Mr. H.. B. Christianson. The motto was: He Conquers, Who La- bors, Class colors: Blue and Silver gray. Class flower: Peach Tea Rose. ,The 'Junior Play, Here Comes Charlief, directed by Mr. Le Roy Hood was presented December 18th and 29th. On April 27th the Seniors decorated the assembly and the Juniors tore them down, and replaced them with their class colors and the Junior flag was raised. May 10, the Junior Senior Banquet was given at Schaffer's Rainbow Room, in McCook, Nebraska, the theme being a Ship. It was a great success. The Juniors also took part in the Baccalaureate Services. . In ,the year of '38 we became 19 dignified students working toward our des- tiny, May 18, 1939, which is the goal toward. which-all students work. A new member was added to the class, being Lawrence Sexson. Thexclass officers were: President, Phillip Schluckebierg Vice President, 'Bob Head, and Secretary and Treas- urer, Dortha Bauer, later Bernice Endres. Class motto, colors and flower were same as the Year before. Sponsor was Mr. Le Roy Hood CCoachj. A Superintendent Mr. H. B. Christianson. In the early part of the year, the Seniors ordered their class rings from Josten's, they were received October 31. On the same day a photographer from the Mar- quise Studio, Enid, Oklahoma, took the Seniors pictures. In March the Annual Staff and Class Play The Highschool Mystery were chosen. The play was given April 27. A member of the class was lost when Dortha Bauer moved to Culbertson. Nebraska. . The Seniors attended the Junior Senior Banquet May 6, which was given in their honor.
