SENIOR PROPHECY I decided late in the spring of 6657 that I would like to have a reunion of my fenior classmates. So on the night of june Z, I called all of them together and much no my surprise everyone of my fellow classmates was present. Among the first to arrive were Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Laux, yes Mary Lou and Hip had gotten married as they had planned. They now had two children, a boy, Timmie, and a girl, Caron Sue, and were living in their newly built cottage next to their garage on 36. Along with them appeared Mr. and Mrs. Lee Graham. Helen, so it seems finally married Lee and was now running a restaurant in Dayton. So far, there was just the two of them. Of course , not far behind them appeared Mr. and Mrs. jesse Mikesell, who had also married in june after graduation. They seemed the same as they did ten years ago when we were going to school together. Can you imagine Ada without any children, well she told me she had decided to wait until they had paid for their nome they were building in Greenville. I traveled on to my next guest, they had just about all arrived by now and such a display of youngsters, I had never seen before. My next visit was with Mr. and Mrs. junior Tharp. It seems they had left three year old baby junior at home with his grandmother. He then told me that he and Betty had been married in U4-8 before he went to the Army. He now had a good job as Business Ivlanager in a sporting goods store in Dayton. Well, then, who should appear but Martha Grim, alone. Could it be that she hadn't married Devon after all? But no, after talking with her awhile I found out that he was at home taking care of six week's old daughter Helen I..ouise. She was still living at Palestine and Devon was a farmer. Then I came to two of my chums that really surprised me, Between asking questions and answering them Betty Stevens told me that she was still single and a nurse at the Provident Hospital in Chicago. She said she was still going with Jr. Carpenter and was planning to be married before too long. joan Archie of course, fairly knocked me over when she said she was now teaching the first and second grades at Palestine. After all, joan always got such a thrill out of missing school, I never thought she would be a teacher. And surprises never end, she then told me that she had no intention of getting married for at least five more years. She was living at home. After hearing her tell about her pupils it made me rather homesick to go back and visit for a day. At this time who should appear at my side but Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Niswonger. They had married late in M4-9M and Kenny and family were now living in Greenville. They were planning on moving into their small cottage on Central Avenue before long. They then pointed to a small girl and boy playing over in the corner with Mary L.ou's children. Of course, I knew right away that they belonged to Kenny and Rosie. The boy, Kenneth jr. had daddy's height and Janie had her mother's blonde hair and gray eyes. Rose called Janie and both children came running. I asked baby jr. wha.t he wanted to be when he grew up and here is what he said, MI want to be a good basketball player like daddy says he was. I turned to talk to Janie and away she went, poor shy little girl. On to the group of men sitting over there on the couch. I moved towards them and whom should I re- cognize right away but Ray Richards. Next to him sat Duane Goens, and then Harry Poling. I remembered when I asked Duane what he Wanted to be ten years ago. MOh, I guess I'm going to college, but I don't know what for!! Well, it seems as though he decided, as now he holds a very good job as Manager in an office down at Wright Field. HTim was always one of those fellows who was quick with the mind but not with his hands. You're doing all right, anyway so keep it up. Then I just couldnt uvait any longer to find out about Ray. Was he married? No, none of these three iz-nys were, I found out later. I then asked him what he had been doing since he 4-aduated. He told me that he just couldn't leave the farm and that he had bought a Gracre farm near Hollansburg. I asked him whyhe had never married and he said, ve . so far I have been getting a home ready: now I have to find someone to live in

Senior Prophecy fCont.l it with me.u' Isn t that just like him though, always thinking of the other person. Harry then spoke up and so I had to move along. Yes, Harry I believe was the most surprising one of the class. It seems as though: he had joined the Navy right after graduation and liked it so well he plans to stay in for some time. I might mention, that he too is engaged and plans to be married soon. Over here was a young lady whom I didn't think I knew, so you know me, over I went to find out the latest. At first. I took it for Kenny Oliver's wife but then I found out that it was only his girlfriend. We aren't married but plan to be before long. Yes, I finally got introduced to Laura Shiverdecker. I was then told that he had planned on marrying Laura soon after graduation but the Army gave him an invitation to come and stay with them for awhile and after he finally got home he went to college Now he is teaching at Ohio State. I then cast my eye over in Noel Marshall's direc' tion. MY! MY! He certainly looked nice in that Ngval Air Corp Uniform. He had grown so I hardly knew him. Yes, I then asked him if he was married and he sur- prised me by saying, Mnot yet. It rather got me when he told me that he and Shirley Harless were going steady and that she had just gotten out of college and was working. 'We plan to be married someday. Right next to Noel sat Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wilson. Bob and Mary finally got married after Bob waited for her to finish high school and to go to Business College :or three years. Then up popped two boys and a girl. It seems as though they were none other than Bob and Mary's children. Their names I didn't have time to find out because someone was tapping away on my shoulder. You might guess, it was none other than Bill Nestor, and he hadn't changed a bit. Of course I was expecting him to start telling me about his little home and wife but, no! He said he didn't have either. He hadn't had time for such things. It seems that Bill spent two years in the Navy and then came back to go to an Aeronautical School for four years and now was the owner of a medium sized airport located somewhere near Cincinnati. I was rather annoyed right then when my three year old daughter, Carolyn jane came whispering I'm hungry mother I told her to wait until Bill had finished telling me about himself and then appeared Mary Lou saying that I hadn't told about myself. There didn't seem much to tell, other than I had married a year after I had graduated and now had three children, a boy and two girls. My husband, Hank, was still working at the International in Richmond and I was working around on the farm in the daytime. I had planned on getting a job but I soon found out that with three children you had job enough keeping up with the home front. By the time we had eaten and chatted a while longer the children were beginning to get sleepy so of course that told us it was time to be getting them to bed.
