SENIOR HISTORY In 1934, sixteen inexperienced girls and boys started to school at Palestine. Miss Myers was our very capable teacher. The enrollment was as follows: Dorna Arnett, junior Arnett, Betty Bruner, Billy Burden, Martha Carpenter, Wilbur Deeter, Martha jean Fernsler, Betty Io Ferguson, Lois Flory, Norma jean jones, Raymond Null, Byron Paul, Lois Shank, Donna Stephens, Donna Mae Teaford, and junior Tharp. Our first six years were spent in the elementary building. We had a new experience in our seventh and eighth grades. We became members of the junior High School and had part of our classes in the high school building. During these years, several new students entered. Beverly DeVelbiss, Iesse Mike- sell, Iimior Marshall, Don Laux, and Fred Clark. In our Freshman year we had several new members. They were: Bill Holland, Rich- ard Burden, Ioan Iones, Daniel Iett, Clarence Fowble, Mary Ayette, Maurice Longfellow, and Ralph Beisner. Our Freshman initiation was held at the home of Leo Riegle. Here were experienced the first agonies of being Freshies. When we were Sophomores, two members, Eileen Sleepy, and Dick Mowery, joined our ranks to help us initiate the Freshmen at the home of Donna Mae Teaiord. We were glad to get the chance to take it out on another class that which had been done to us. In our junior year came our class play which was jimmy, Be Careful. The cast included Fred Clark, Marcella Kelley, Don Laux, Donna Stephens, Wilbur ' eeter, Betty Bruner, junior Marshall, Beverly Develbiss, Richard Burden, and Donna Mae Teaford. This same year two of our class members entered the U. S. Navy. They were Dick Mowery and Iesse Mikesell. A new member, Gloria Harless, came into the class this year. When we were Juniors, we had the privilege of selling pop, ice cream bars, and sandwiches at all of our home ball games. This is where we got most of our money for the Junior and Senior reception. The reception was held in the high school gymnasium. The decorations gave the ap- pearance of a Plantation Party. It was formal and we danced after our banquet and program. This year a former member of our class, Evelyn Stevens, returned to graduate with us We are proud to say that we are the first Seniors to put out the EAGLE and we are pleased with the success we have accomplished. This, our Senior year, we are pleased that we have been as successful as we were during our other eleven years of school. We hope that our success may continue with us through life. Those students going all twelve years at Palestine are: Betty Bruner, Betty Io Ferguson, Donna Stephens, and Donna Teaford.
