Roy B. Wallace The Arc Light Staff of 1961 is proud to salute Mr. Roy B. Wallace. For nineteen years, Mr. Wallace has di- rected the Palestine High School band. In that time, he has built one of the finest high school bands in Texas. Band members will tell any- one that he is a hard taskmaster and is satisfied with nothing short of perfection. They also will state that Mr. Wallace is the best --that.all the hard work they do for him produces remark- able results. Mr. Wallace took a leave of absence early this year for reasons of health. We hope that he will be able to return next year. In any case, we take this opportunity to thank him for his faithful service to us and to the band.

F. L. Nix Head Custodian Cowboy, Rosie, and Mr. Nix are a familiar and well-loved trio at P. H. S. Their work of caring for P. H. S. facilities keeps both students and faculty comfortable, and makes learning and teaching easier and more efficient. CUSTODIANS KEEP US COMFURT ABLE Of the three custodians who have served us so well, only Cow- boy will be back next year. Mr. Nix announced at the end of the year that, for reasons of health, he would retire. Rosalie swept her last hall on Wednesday, May '24--the next-to-the-last day of school. Her death that night left a sober and sorrowful student body: all of us miss her friend- ly, respectful help, P. H. S. will never be the same with- out Rosie.
