Spirit I've got it! 11 Homecoming spirit week began Monday with Beach Day. The students and staff came dressed in baggies and sunglasses. Tuesday clones of celebrities (everyone from Dolly Parton to Don Johnson) roamed the hallways. Wednesday it was open season on the Bucs. Many students showed up for the event dressed in camouflage. Thursday the mourning began for the inevitable death of the Mainland Buccaneers— black was the order of the day. Friday, the day of the game, students and staff showed the school spirit by wearing blue and gold. The parade began at 3:15. The streets were crowded with people lined up to see the floats, bands, and clowns. At 8:00 the big game started. There was tension in the air. In the first half Palatka was dominating the game 21 to 0. Then the half time show took off when the homecoming court proceeded down the field. 4th—Tracy Ettel 3rd—Missie Maltby 2nd—Kelly Murray 1st—Jennifer Harrell Queen—Michelle Krause Mainland kicked off to start the second quarter, Medlock caught the ball and ran over 50 yards for the touchdown. These two stu- dents are cleaning up atter a cooking assignment. V.O.E. classes offer students a great chance to learn secretarial and ac- counting skills.
