 Homecoming The theme of Wasted Days and Wasted Knights set ter of the Knights by wearing black and attending the the pace as the Panthers prepared to take on the Van- Panther Prowl and bonfire that night, guard Knights, the evening of October 12. Homecoming week was full of activities that the entire student body took part in. Monday started off the feeling of togetherness with ev- erybody wearing their favorite outfits on Overall and Hat Day. They ranged from the standards of denim to silk. The bobbysocks and ducktail generation invaded PHS on Tuesday. Letter jackets and ponytails abounded in the halls. The day for Panther Pride was Friday as we all decked out in Blue, Gold, and White. That was the spark that set our great team in motion. After a great parade that afternoon, during which we saw the Knights everything from flushed to scrapped, Panther fans filled the stadi- um. Tri-Hi-Y took first in floats. Before the game, the Homecoming Queen was crowned. Pam Griffis was the chosen one. Her atten- dants were Cathy Rash, Sharon Harris, Tami Johnson, Sue Lessig, Faith Ruth, and Penny Holloway. The Annie Hall look was the thing Wednesday as Clash Day hit school. Nothing was supposed to go together except a united school spirit. Thursday a day of respect was set aside for the victims- to-be of the Panther Machine. We mourned the slaugh- The Panthers went into the game with a 4-1 record. The momentum of their four game winning streak car- ried them through as they went into action and truly wasted Vanguard. We won 28-21. The 1979-80 football team renewed the tradition of a victorious Homecoming for future PHS students to carry on. GO Panthers. 20 Homecoming
