She usually has a high A in her classes but if she didn’t, with her smile and dimples, a teacher would consider an A as her reward. Tammy will go far due to her relentless pursuit of her objec- tives and her true dedication. Donald Davis Donald is conscientious and courteous, quiet and strong, a gentleman and a scholar. Donald also has a great sense of humor. He is very likable and possesses qualities of leadership. He is dependable and also takes the time to help and to show he cares about others. Bryan Alford Bryan is truly a young man for all seasons. His wit and sense of humor parallel his intellect and common sense. His genuine in- terest in people is reflected by a radiant smile, a sympathetic ear, and a desire to serve others. Bryan’s happy with himself—a goal for everyone. 60 Felicia Seabury Dale Green Truly outstanding among her peers, Felicia’s innate poise, com- passion, idealism, and ambition have been refined through living and growing with a purpose: to use what she is for the advance- ment of her own best interests and of those around her. To these qualities she adds a love of laughter and an exceptionally warm heart. Debbie Mitchem Debbie is a studious and dependable young lady with a beautiful smile and a great per- sonality. Debbie is that type of person you think of when you hear “most likely to succeed. She always gives that little extra which makes her something special. Ready to help . . . quietly ambitious. Dale is a person who surprises you, for his quietness is deceptive. He has a quick wit and a way of doing a lot of work that goes unnoticed, because he doesn’t toot his horn. With his gentle but strong character and disposition, Dale seeks solutions to human problems rather than complaining about them. co o c CD CO O) c T3 C ro co ■ —■ 3 o 61 Ann Henderson Honest, dependable, sweet, fun- loving, sensitive, dignified, in- telligent. These words describe Ann Henderson. Concerned about the quality of life more than the quantity of life, Ann thinks about the things that matter in the long run. She has her priorities in their proper order. For these at- tributes and more, she has the respect of all who know her. David Bryant David has an excellent mind and the determination to use it to the fullest. He is willing to work, ques- tion and study until he completely understands. He is dependable in his many extracurricular school activities and gives many extra hours to make them successful. Marcie Swilley Marcie is enthusiastic in whatever she does, whether she is playing basketball, solving a math problem or just having fun. She has an excellent, analytical mind and is willing to use it. Her leadership abilities stand out. She is an outstanding example of the all-around student: full of school spirit, active in clubs and sports, and an excellent student. 62 D. W. Richardson D. W. is a good student, a football player, and is involved in many types of school activities. He has a pleasant, easy-going personality, a good sense of humor, and a positive outlook. These attributes enable him to move easily through sports, classes, circles of friends, and on into a confident future. Teri Clemente Teri is a vivacious and popular senior with a warm smile and dynamic personality that allows her to make friends easily. She is a versatile student with many ac- complishments to her credit, in both academic and extra- curricular activities. Teri’s singing talent, creative mind, and organizational ability should aid her in a successful future. Kevin Key Kevin is currently serving as the Palatka FFA Senior Chapter president. Kevin exemplifies those traits which you look for in a Chapter officer: leadership skills, scholastic achievement, and the ability to get along with others. By being courteous, hard working and imaginative, Kevin upholds the high qualities of a good stu- dent. 63 Outstanding Seniors c The Junior Class of PHS has come to life. With only one more year to go, the Class of '80 unites its initiative and potential to create success. Initiative was shown in a previous magazine sale which exceeded $3,000. Not only that, potential was shown in December when over eighty percent of the class passed the State Student Assessment Test. 64 The officers of the Junior Class are Darrell Gilyard, president; Pam Griffis, vice-president; Lisa Barnes, secretary; and Cathy Rash, treasurer; who spent many hours after school working toward the success of their class. But it was more like a fever that lasted all week and only got down to normal the Monday after. A stranger would have wondered what was going on at Palatka High. One day it was disco fashions, another school colors and crazy hats worn in class . . . poodle skirts and the 50’s grease . . . boogying in the gym . . . somber black and a funeral for the Starke Tor- nadoes at the Panther Prowl ... the traditional bon- fire and snake dance. Spooks and goblins, Carl’s Angels and more showed up the last day, as Halloween came early and students, faculty and staff caught the fever. But, when a person can tell of four such friends, then that love can be multiplied by four. The HCD’s is one such group, whose love grows stronger each day. They'll stay together in heart and mind, when they all go their own separate ways. No one need ever say I love you , for it will all come out in the end— Greater love hath no man than this, than a man lay down his life for his friend.
