Fashions and Fads The clothes that Palatine students wore represent the present fashions and fads. Western style clothing, permed hair, and designer jeans were the new trend for fall! winter. Many students wore cowboy hats and boots, vests, and western style skirts. Fads and popular activities are also shown by clothing . .. ,I E WM 4 1 s ,zine xwsz-.L .. if , Although disco music and dancing is a national fad, anti- disco and rock music are sup- ported by Palatine students, An anti-disco movement was started over the summer by VV- LUP disc jockey Steve Dahl. Stu- dents display their support for rock by wearing t-shirts from the local rock stations, VVLUP and VVMET. Rock concerts are a popular activity among stu- dents here. The Student Council sponsored a concert by M8tR Rush in the fall that was attended by a large crowd of students, Many students wear t-shirts and jerseys from concerts by their favorite groups. Some also show their support for the hostages in Iran with t-shirts. 17
