The Student Council is not a club, but a student government. The administration and the Council work together to better the students and build a better school. Due to the willingness of the administration to give the students more responsibility in their affairs, the Student Council has been able to accomplish a great deal. The Council supervises the social program of the school and promotes fund-raising projects for school activities and charitable purposes. This year extensive CARE and Polio drives were conducted. A total of S378 went to these two causes alone. Supervis- ing the monitor system, operating student supervised study halls, taking charge of assemblies, and relating administrative changes to the students are among the responsibilities of the Student Council. ff' w' ff All On March 18, 1957, a crowd of almost four thousand ian fans enjoyed the Louis Armstrong Concert sponsored by the Stu- dent Council. The cheering audience plainly showed their approval of this council function.
