EBB TIDE WANDA SEAMAN Assistant Editor NANCY TUREK Editor MRS. FRIERY Sponsor Foreword Another year in the life of PHS is almost over. For some it is the last year. With graduation comes one of the most important steps in a student’s life. How and in what di- rection a student takes this step will certainly have been influenced by the environment of our high school - its activities, students, and teachers. High school is, in a sense, a pathway to the future. For those who have really been a part of PHS, this pathway will definitely be a memorable one. How often we have heard our parents say, “Enjoy your high school years, for you will remember them as the best years of your life!” The Ebb Tide Staff hopes this book will help you remember this year, 1963-64, a little bit better. Who will ever forget the fun we had on the Senior Trip, the poor peacocks, the donkey carts, and the gorilla at the zoo! Most memorable of all is the famous line from the Senior Play - Okay, lady! Our class has done well in many fields, achieving honors in music, athletics, science, agriculture, and home economics. Twelve seniors were members of the National Honor Society. Kay Ostrem, who is very smart, will always have a great big heart. Carolyn Peterson, who likes Paul Spree, will spend her life swinging from a tree. Our fine friend, Susie Reneau, will go to Vegas and open a casino. Our fair girl, Gaye Rogers, will end up playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Rita Rogers, the girl who chews gum, will join the Beatles and play the drum. Molly Sanchez, who wears tight slacks, will join the Army WACS. Billie Sanders, who likes F.H.A., will win the championship and fight Cassius Clay. A boy we know, Ronnie Sells, will run away from home and ride the rails. Ginger Shearer, who is known as witty, will be the founder of a brand-new city. Paul Spree, the one-mile man, will end up in the can. Marvin Stuhrenberg, we really hope, will find out he is not such a dope. Brad Tanner, a real Romeo, will wind up being a lonesome Joe. A fine girl, Melvena Tanner, will always be in front and carry the banner. Nancy Turek, who isn’t a flirt, will never, never be hurt. Margaret Wallin, better known as Magget, will wind up working for T.V.’s Dragnet. Donald Wesselman, a cattle raiser, will always shave with a dull razor. Dennis Wynn, a real small guy, will be a taster of cherry pies. Clifford Wright, who is as mean as a bear, will end up cutting everyone's hair. Joyce Scruggs, who is a senior brain, will end up washing window panes. Ruby Adams, a real scream, will wind up manufacturing ice cream. Irene Solis, one of the hot live wires, will work for a filling station and fix flat tires. Evangeline Flores, a real little tyke, will make her fortune on a fifty-mile hike. President: Billy Kubecka Vice President: Margaret Herlin Secretary: Charlotte Nichols CLASS SPONSORS Mr. Linton Mrs. Wiggs Miss Balusek CLASS OFFICERS The Sophomore Class of 1963-1964 was very proud to have five lettermen and four reserves in football, plus a letterman in basketball. We had twelve probationary members in the National Honor Society, and two members in the Future Teachers of America. The newly organized Future Nurses Club was very fortunate, we think, in having twenty-one members from the sophomore class, three of whom were Wanda Laurence, secretary; Margaret Herlin, social director; and Molly Garcia, finance. Our Christmas party consisted of the exchanging of gifts following the serving of refresh- ments. Needless to say, all had a most enjoyable time. We have learned much and have had a fun-filled and memorable year and we hope to have many more not only in school but throughout our lives.
