Secretary Jutta Haubold Class Song: Deep Purple Class Colors: Lavender and silver Class Flower: Purple Aster The Junior class of 1957-58 began its participation in school activities by selecting Betty Friery as Homecoming Queen candidate. She was elected by the student body as Homecoming Princess and the coronation took place on Shark field during the half time of our Homecoming game. The Junior class Christmas party was held in the high school study hall. Gifts were ex- changed and refreshments were served. Pat Christy and Betty Friery presented Mrs. Friery and Mr. Clark with gifts. The Junior class sponsoreda sockhop in the high school gym. The gym was decorated in the class colors and pairs of socks. Junior Sock Hop was written along the stage. The class cleared approximately $23. An added attraction was the mystry box in which two soph- omores won the prize. Also a delicate operation was performed by Dr. Lousy Lowry on the well-known patient, Pennyless Pennington. The Junior class candidate for Sports Queen, Betty Highberg, was crowned on Shark field as Sports Queen for 1957-58. She was crowned by last year's queen. The Junior class broke away from the traditional banquet and prom by giving a Junior- Senior party at the Pavilion on May 2. Music was furnished by Tee Tieman and his orchestra. Stylized marine life decorated the huge net which almost encircled the Pavilion. Favors for the evening were leis and they were handed out by sophomore girls dressed in colorful sarongs. The program consisted of the reading of the Junior Prophecy and the Senior Will. Special music was provided by Spike Jones and his Beachcombers, who sang Hawaiian War Chant , Betty Roberson and Betty Friery, who sang He , and Joyce Linley, who sang the Senior class song, You'll Never Walk Along . The Junior class picnic was held at Gypsy Wagon on May 16. We almost had two trag- edies--Pam was almost thrown in the river in her new pedal pushers and Jack T. cut his leg while going through a fence. We all had a good time, especially those who walked over to Nubbin's. All in all we've had fun this year and next year (if there's anyone left) we'll have twice as much fun! Mary Ramsey
