Foreword Yesterday is but a dream-and tomorrow is only a vision. So is it with this, the Ebb-Tide. To us of P. H. S. it is a reality of today. To the grade schooler it is a vision of tomorrow. As the years pass it will become but our dream of yesterday. We, the staff of the 1957 Ebb-Tide, turn over to you, the reader, the fruits of our labor. Thumb through it with care; ob- serve it with diligence; cherish it with reverence; recall it with Best wishes always Tommy Brandon Editor-in-chief

In deep appreciation for his kind understanding, his teaching ability, his willingness to serve, and his interest in his pupils, we the staff of the 1956-1957 Ebb-Tide dedicate this issue to one whose deep modesty should be a shining ex- ample to all of us, S. H. Clark, educator, scientist, friend. Modesty is to Merit as Shades to figures in a picture; giving it strength and beauty. -La Bruyere Left; Mr. Clark examines a Nutria brought in by one of the students. It will be put on display so that all of the science classes may examine it. Mr. Clark will also ex- plain in each class to those who are interested just what type of creature it is and also other interesting facts about it. This is one of the reasons Mr. Clark's classes usually are filled and have much enthusiasm in them. Dedication
