Student Council Back row: Jack Crawford, Patsy Robinson Seated: Barbara Keefe, vice-pres., Karen Thompson, secretary, Bobby Walton, president, Gail King, Paul Taylor The Student Council has sponsored several activities this year. It has sponsored several dances, also, the most important of which was the Homecoming dance. By sponsoring the dances and the Sports Queen race the Student Council was able to purchase many student awards and many useful things for the school. At Christmas the council planned the program and bought candy for the students. The Student-Faculty volleyball game and Western Day were two enjoyable and successful events sponsored by the Student Council. During Western Day, students not wearing at least two items of western apparel, were fined or put in jail (the south office). Some of the events enjoyed during the day were the greased pole contest, the wheelbarrow race, the spitting contest, and several others. The day was climaxed with a Western Day Dance.
