Text from Pages 1 - 68 of the 1956 volume:

Dedication A dedication is a tribute, a memento in words to show admiration and respect for a person or an event. This tribute is directed to one who is close to us, an individual of | accomplishment. We appreciate his careful counsel; we appreciate his temperate and merciful criticism. He is a rock of confidence, in whom our trust was never violated. He is an example of faith, a purveyor of optimism, a champion of fairness and fair play, and at times a harbinger of gloom, but one who ould, and always did, come smiling through in victory or defeat. He I.merits this dedication. j So with pride and joyous acclaim we, the staff of the 1956 Ebb Tide, of Sharkland, R. C. dedicate this annual to the ever lovable Shark •'Sharky Shelton. Here is Memory Lane for 1956- To many these memories will furnish the foundation to successful achievement; to others the passing of another day. We have tried to condense thousands of useful moments into short pages of memorable action shots. 'Tis a task of Joy, almost to frustration; yet withal it comes, as a labor of love to wish for you all, happiness unending, wherever you may be. At Christmas the council planned the program and bought candy for the students. The Student-Faculty volleyball game and Western Day were two enjoyable and successful events sponsored by the Student Council. During Western Day, students not wearing at least two items of western apparel, were fined or put in jail (the south office).
