RALPH NEWSOM, SUPERINTENDENT To the Student Body Palacios High School My Dear Friends: The appearance of the Ebb-Tide reminds us that another year of school is drawing to a close. In your daily contact with your teachers and fellow students you have acquired much that will be your possession in life hereafter. It would be idle to hope that each of you has achieved his ambition for the year; however, it is hoped the year has not beeq a total loss. To you who are graduating, I offer my hearty congratulations. You have achieved much thus far in your educational career. I hope that your success may inspire you with confidence in your ability to achieve even more in the life that lies ahead. To you who are undergraduates, may I say that we have enjoyed working with you, and we are looking forward to seeing you again next year. We hope that your summer vacation will be both pleasant and profitable and that you will come back next fall with a renewed determination to make the most of your opportunities. Sullivan, High School Principal To The Senior High Students The Student Body of Palacios Senior High School of 1950-51 has been one of the most con- genial groups with whom I ever had the pleasure of working. You have accomplished things that seemed hopeless at the beginning of the year. Through your willingness to work and your ability to succeed you have scaled every obstacle put before you. These qualities, if came into your professional career, will pay hugh dividends in all walks of life. To the Seniors, who are leaving us with the close of this school year, I say. Keep your chin up, your shoulders back, and meet the world with the same assurance you have exhibited to the lower classmen of 1950-51.” Juniors, we shall expect great things of you as Seniors of 1951-52. The members of the class of '51 will be looking back to see how well you are filling their shoes and will be pulling for you and Palacios High School wherever they may be. To the Sophomores I say, We are proud to have such a lively group of individuals assem- bled with us this year. Your energy has been something at which to marvel. When you have moved on to become Seniors of 1952-53, that energy should be directed along lines that will make Palacios High School proud to point to great accomplishments by you. W. E.
