CLASS OF 19 9 Our second year in high school began with a hang and has never let up! We elected Coach McGill as our advisor and chose Jack Kelley to lead us as president, assisted by Ursula Schulz, vice-president, Ginny Holderbach as secretary., and Al Hemly as treasurer. We voted Linda Lyon, Joyce Palmer, Robin Warden, and Butch Tomb as student council representatives. .lack Kelley brought honor to us, being chosen treasurer of this organization. Our sports roster included Bob llalm: Butch Kimble, liutch Tomb, and Joe Strzepek on varsity football, Al Hemly, Ralph Blencowe, and Fritz Massey on Varsity basketballg and Olin Dobson, Dick King, Butch Tomb, Herb Kimble, Dave Johnson, and Dave Erwin all starred on our jayvee basketball team. Mary Agnes Murray helped make our school spirit audible on the J. V. cheerleading squad. Sophomores could also be heard in the music de- partment where we were proud of our members in All- State Band, County Choir, Red Band, Blue Band, and our schoolis Dance Band. Visihles as well as audibles at the football games were our two majorettes, Donna Jones and Mary Agnes Murray. Also seen, were our representatives in two speaking contests, Latin Club, Footlighfs Society and the Post Scripts. Three of our students won recognition in na- tional 4-H contests. The class also shone socially by sponsoring a dance, THE SHAMROCK HOP, on March 2. So satisfying was this first attempt at sociability that we are eagerly planning a spring picnic. This sophomore year has ended all too soon, but we have our sights on a blaze of glory, our Junior year. Our eyes focus on another event, graduation, which is looming in the not-too-distant future. We know our next two years will be as wonderful as the two we are leaving behind. CLASS OFFICERS President ............... Jack Kelley Vice-President .....,.. Ursula Shultz Treasurer ................ Al Hemley Sccrctary ....... Virginia Holderhach Advisfir ............... Coach McGill
