We elected Coach McGill as our advisor and chose Jack Kelley to lead us as president, assisted by Ursula Schulz, vice-president, Ginny Holderbach as secretary., and Al Hemly as treasurer. We voted Linda Lyon, Joyce Palmer, Robin Warden, and Butch Tomb as student council representatives. .lack Kelley brought honor to us, being chosen treasurer of this organization. Our sports roster included Bob llalm: Butch Kimble, liutch Tomb, and Joe Strzepek on varsity football, Al Hemly, Ralph Blencowe, and Fritz Massey on Varsity basketballg and Olin Dobson, Dick King, Butch Tomb, Herb Kimble, Dave Johnson, and Dave Erwin all starred on our jayvee basketball team. Mary Agnes Murray helped make our school spirit audible on the J. V. cheerleading squad. Sophomores could also be heard in the music de- partment where we were proud of our members in All- State Band, County Choir, Red Band, Blue Band, and our schoolis Dance Band. Visihles as well as audibles at the football games were our two majorettes, Donna Jones and Mary Agnes Murray. Also seen, were our representatives in two speaking contests, Latin Club, Footlighfs Society and the Post Scripts. Three of our students won recognition in na- tional 4-H contests. The class also shone socially by sponsoring a dance, THE SHAMROCK HOP, on March 2. So satisfying was this first attempt at sociability that we are eagerly planning a spring picnic. This sophomore year has ended all too soon, but we have our sights on a blaze of glory, our Junior year. Our eyes focus on another event, graduation, which is looming in the not-too-distant future. We know our next two years will be as wonderful as the two we are leaving behind. CLASS OFFICERS President ............... Jack Kelley Vice-President .....,.. Ursula Shultz Treasurer ................ Mr. Randels became our class advisor. x To the Student Council, along with President .lohn Watson, we sent Carol Ann Carpenter, Sandra Truesdell, lieth Payne, and Charles Giometti. ' All of the major sports have found recruits among our classmates whose names :Q achievements will gain prominence as they gain experience. As added evidence of our interest in the teams, the J. V. Cheerleaders in- cluded .ludy Rigby, Linda Pease, and Carol Ann Car- penter. These three sparked our school spirit to a high degree. In fact, they symbolize the attitude of our class: whenever there's a job to be done or a team to support, we are there. Three freshmen, Richard Blank, William Scouten, and Charles Carlton, competed in the high school speaking contest. Richard, as the local winner, repre- sented Painted Post in the county finals. As a class, we were socially-minded too, having sponsored a successful dance and roller-skating party. Added to the above accomplishments, a large num- ber of Freshmen made the Honor Roll each marking period. ln March we had the largest number from any one class. We are proud of our clissg we feel that we have made an auspicious beginning of our high school careers, and we hope to continue to contribute to all phases of school life in the three years ahead of us.
