wr te up rn the Poster of 43 was nothmg less than a corny dralogue between some m1ce but the strange part about 1t IS that the m1ce have slnce deve oped rnto hrgh bred cats maybe the honorable professor Sanford can explam thrs phenomena And then now hold your breath folks came that year of all ye.trs the Iumor year' flt s about trmel We perched Lee Searfoss hrgh and dry rn the presrdents chaxr Bef Hostrander at hrs srde and kept Gerry Wrlcot and Mary Lou Seeley busrly takmg notes and addmg greenbacks as they rolled rnto our treasury Sure enough Gerry was our secretary Marr lor Seeley our treasurer and Bev our vrce presrdent for the lumor year Norm Phelps Parnted Posts ambassador of good wrll from Addrson and v1ce versa was grven the dubrous honor of advrsor to the class of 45 as 1t entered 1nto the brggest years of 1ts exrstence Mr Phelps really took rt as an honor to be advrsor to us hell1ons and through hrs untrrrng efforts we were able t make a success of the two brggest actrvrtres of any Iumor class the sa'e of Chrlstmas cards and the publ1cat1on of the yearbook No we drdnt equal the record sale of Chrrstrnas cards that the Semors at that trme boast a unmercrfully of but there rs only one reason for that Adolf l-lrtler Because of wartrme slrces rn the paper supply we were depr1ved of the brggest sale getter IH the whole Chnstmas Card racket wrapplng paper All told we d1d sell more of the cards themselves than the class that was so good at estabhshrng records As for the yearbook we completely outdtstanc ft the class of 44 rn that as well as all others before us at least we lrke to thmk so I suppose all of the classes are gutlty of th1s m1sdemeanor Al Parsons was the Ed1tor Blnk Thomas the Busmess Manager and Mr Phelps of course the boss Wrth Mr Phelps well balanced layout and some draw rngs by lack Lagerbom tossed ln for good luck the class of 45 put out yearbook revolutronary at least lf not what some people rmght thmk so around the Chrrstmas of our lun1or year and belreve 1t or not sponsored a dance' lt was some affarr and up to the trme of thts wrrtrng the clos st that our class has come to engagrng 1n th1s age old war banrshed actrvrty The year ended wrth the class well ahead rn fmances and marks and pre pared to ascend to the top of the mountain we were now Senrors ana from now on I arnt usm no more slang The electron for Semor Class offrcers resulted rn the selectron of Roger Alderman as presrdent Betsy Shumway as vrce presrdent and Alan Parsons as secretary treasurer Th1s gave our class a d1st1nct1on few can clarm nobody served two terms as presrdent and thrs goes to show what a great wealth of materral we had W1th Mr Phelps once agarn leadrng the way we entered our Senror year wrth the convlctron that we were gomg to succeed rn every way and when the frrst month s averages came out the astomshea faculty of PPHS saw a m1racle that seldom occurs We were strll on top scholastrcally as we had been for our other three years lt IS not very often that the Semor class boasts the hrghest average of the four We took the tradrtronal tnps to Womans Club and Rotary enroymg every one of them and at the same trme undertook the productror of a Senror play an undertakmg that was marked wrth the same earnestness that seems to be a part of our endeavor The Grrls Take Over was the trtle and 1t proved rn all ways a complete success Trcket sales tor thrs event swelled our treasury rmmensely Ten boys remamed rn the class of 45 when they became Sen ors as agarnst 35 grrls Thls was some reductron especrally rn the male ranks from the crowd that entered lunror l-hgh School Just one day after the world greatest conflrct had 1ts small but swrft begrnmng on the border of Poland The class of 45 numbered 73 when rt entered as Freshmen and has shrunk to rts present srze of 45 Say now rsnt that sumpln the Class of 45 has 45 members as rt graduates There are seven servrcemen that we lrke to mclude as a vrtal part of our class Thre of these have already been mentroned The other four although they mrght not have fmtshed hrgh school wrth us Chuck Klng Pete Smrth Chuck Carpenter and Henry Cramer were among our ranks as Freshmen ,Y QF X- .
