Poor Lyriari Winchell, hen-pecked by his money-crazy w.fe, Estelle, and flabbergazted by his ijt Aunt Alice, who paid him an allowance, provided he rernaln single, gets in one iam cfter another. Tommy Rotanah, an old fziend of l.yrnan's, pavs him a visit, and Tcmmy's ziancee Grace Sterling, and her friends, Irene Andrews and Rose Stanford arrive to complicate matters. Tommy pretends to be Estelle's husband to protect Lyman, thereby getting in trouble with Grace. Aunty catches Tommy making love to Grace, his fiancee, when she thinks Estelle is his wife. There are a couple of rows with the maid, Iennie, and with the grocery-boy. The whole ploy gets confusing by the minute and then suddenly it all unwinds and everybody lives happily ever after. The audience, from the loud peals of laughter that came forth over the footlights, seemed to enjoy the farce. The Seniors hit a new record in ticket sales, making over S300.UO. We, the cast, put a few grey hairs in Mrs. Willlams' head but when it was all said. and done, we amateurs surely had fun. Bob Rose, after taking cram lessons on the sax from the patient Professor tnow Privatel Craig last summer, entered the band along with Romney Dann and Bob Reep. 'We've played at several social hours, at the Recreation Club, at a CFA Ball, at the Baron Steuben, and once at a gay wedding reception, How we sounded as well as we did with so little practice will always remain a mystery in the mind of our competent and patient leader, Bob Hubbard. Its purpose is to brinq home and friends closer to those fiojhtin' Americans out there somewhere. Under the coaching of Dave Collister, the call for baseball applicants was answered by several lettermen, who had had one or two years of experience. Not only did they have practically the same infield, but even a complete battery, Vernie Morse and Rulee Morse. These two lads were a good foundation for any teamp now both are in the Army. The infield consisted of Bob Hubbard at lst, lrish McCarty at 2nd, Rabbit Shoemaker on 3rd, and the Air Cadet, Squirt Childs, on short. The outfield was composed of Amo Iarnison, Litton Carleton and 'Spido' lohnson. The Posters opened the season with two wins taken from Campbell. Next the Posters invited Northside up but they sent them home with a decisive 5-3 defeat. After their league win over the Tigers , the lndians took on the Bulldogs at Pyrex Park. Here the lndians scalped the Dogs 4-l. Once more they iourneyed to Pyrex Park to meet the Tigers , but this game was rained off. On the following Tuesday the Indians ventured to Pyrex again, but, to no avail, for it was rained off again. Then the Posters gave up hope with Northside and took over the Bulldogs once again, 6-U. At last the Posters got a ticket to meet their rainy friends, the Northsiders. l guess the ax came off the handle and scalped the Indians , as Northside took over l-O. Later C. F. A. proved to be helpful by beating Northside, giving us the championship for this section, but this called for a playoff with Hornell at Addison. This game was mere batting practice for the Post boys who won l2-2. This resulted in a semi-final match with Geneseo, to he played at Dansville. This we won 7-2. Then the boys came back home for a weeks practice. Tune 5, the boys, with plenty of support, ventured to Rochester to take on Canandaigua. This game was a picturesque duel, with Morse way ahead of Agastino, for he allowed only l hit against 6 that the boys earned. You can see by this game that hits don't mean anything, for we lost l-O. The 44 season is underway now, and we promise a darned good team. We hope for a game at Rochester to get revenge. 'We would like to get the support the teams lately have been getting, and the boys, as well as myself, would like to thank the people for their staunch en- thusiasm for sports. e l 'S I VARSITY BASKETBALL Horace Shfruqer, Torn Kennedy, lack Childs, Harry Laqerbom. lmrner Snearly, Bill McCarty Fab Hubbard, Fred lfrfoodard George larnison, Coach Bills.
