The Girls' Glee Club has at last reached the height of its ambition! 1On May I6, the organization, composed of 47 little Indians, bade adieu to the familiar land mark of Painted Post, and eagerly set off to scalp the Albanians and their guests. lnstead of employing the customary slow methods of lndian travel, we moderns put one over on our ancestors and obtained two school busses. After seven hours of traveling, we halted to obtain our much needed rest at Cobleskill Cabout forty miles from, Albanyii then, in the wee hours of dawn C5:30D, we arose and commenced to travel. As we arrived before our scheduled time to sing, we visited the State Capitol and the Educa- tional Building-all under the excellent guidance of Mr. Hall, but our biggest thrill occurred when we visited Howe's Caverns on our way homeward. On Sunday, we learned that the Clee Club and its famed trio fMarion Thompson, Pat Chamberlin, and june l..eValleyJ had received first division ratings, while our jenny Lind, Pat Chamberlin, was awarded a second division rating. During December, we filled the atmosphere with a 'ipeace on earth, good will toward men attitude by presenting a Christmas concert and by caroling in the streets. We entertained the Woman's Club at the Baron Steuben, won first division ratings at our own Musical Festival, and also at the State Festival in Canandaigua, then to defray the expenses to Albany, we sponsored several candy sales at our school movies, took in subscriptions, and presented another concert that won the acclaim of the audience. This year we elected Dorothy Hedden, Presidentg Betty Brown, secre- tary and treasurer, and Mary Abbott and Mary Alice Dailey, librarians. Upon Mr. Hall we want to shower our sincere gratitude for his enthusi- asm and his tireless efforts in making our trip to Albany possible, upon Mrs. Chappell and Mrs. Tillman our thanks for acting as our accompanists, upon the people of Painted Post our appreciation for the subscriptions they so generously gave, and upon Miss Rosa our deep appreciation for her excellent direction which enabled the Club to have such a successful year. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish her all kinds of luck for the future. -Betty Brown, Secretary unlor Band lne unlor Band comprl ed largely of new recruits has worked dill gently thxs year toward the ulhmate goal of Senior Band membership As a result of our year s work we feel we have gamed a good fundamental know ledge of both group partlclpatnon and muslcal production Next year we plan to utlllze this knowledge ln presentation of musical programs and p0SSlble advancement to the bemor Band Both our class lessons and band rehearsals have been conducted by Mr Chappell 43 N -.
