,- v ' c-,x,, 5 E ,-my if SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS OF 1945 PRESIDENT Reba Prewitt VICE PRESIDENT Ruth Harrie REPORTER Doris King STUDENT COUNCIL Helen Calico, Sammy Collett The history of the Senior Class would furnish ample material for a book le have had our time of frivolous youth, our time of great joy, and of troubles in the classroom, our time for studies, and our time for fun our periods of glorious expectation and our periods of de pression We believe, however, that our class record has added a bright p ge to the history of Paint Lick High School Our original class entered school in 1936, and has dwindled con tinually since then The grizzled veterans of those 'good old d-ysn are Doris King, Mona Jean Dollins, Rella Marshbanks, Herbert Barnes, Geraldine Hall, and Kenton Spratt Estridge Every year brought add itional students from Kirksville, Walker, Wren's View, Hulett and New Union Betty Jean Calico, a uploneern since the sec nd grade, remained with us until last year when she moved to Xirksville Gwendolyn Broaddus, now attending school in Lane ster, and Betsy Ross a senior at Buckeye, are former classmates Geneva Ray left the fold to become Mrs Billy Bowling Betty Sanders did the same to become Mrs Buddy Arnold Bessie Hammonds followed their example to wed Bradley Hensley, Jr Bessie, however, decided to return and graduate with her old buddies Through the direction of Mrs Edith Tudor, Hrs Lillie White and Mrs Mary Elizabeth Linoks, the Senior Class has sponsored for major plays The Hoosier Schoolmaster, 1945, Little Women, 1946, Pride and Prejudice, 1914-6, and A Date With Judy, 197-L8 Now, as we reach the close of our Joyful school days, our class must be separated, and each student will soon be facing the enormous responsibility of making the world really safe for democracy and free from religious strife and racial prejudice Greed, intolerance, and hate still threaten the peace It is our privilege and duty to work for the happiness and welfare of all mankind.
