On fhe firsf nighf fhe Tro- jans mef fhe Molokai feam. Playing good ball fhe Trojans beef fhem easily by an 8 poinf margin. On fhe second nighf fhe Trojans played againsf 'rhe Pine Lads of Lanai. COACH AND MANAGERS L fo R: Howard Higashi, Manager: Mr. Sfanley Chung, Coach: John Kailiawa, Manager. The Trojans were sluggish on fhe courf in fhe firsf half and were nof able fo compensafe for if during fhe second half as fhey bowed fo fhe Pine Lads 52-5l. Back here on fheir home courf fhe Trojans mef fhe Wildcafs. The Trojans fook an early sfarf and racked up 32 poinfs fo Kona's I8 in fhe firsf half. Poor ball handling in fhe second half, however, endan- gered Pahala's lead as fhey edged fhe Wildcafs 44-42. For fheir nexf game fhe Trojans journeyed fo Hilo fo play fhe Vandals and losf fhis game wifh a 44-36 score. Affer pracficing for fwo weeks of fhe Chrisfmas Vacafion fhe Trojans fraveled fo Kona on fhe 4fh of January I955. The Trojans losf fhis game by commiffing foo many fouls. The score af fhe final whisfle was 47-38. ln fheir firsf B.l.I.F. game of fhe season fhe Trojans played againsf fhe Sf. Joseph five af fhe Armory. However, in fhe fourfh quarfer fhe Trojans pulled in fronf wifh an 8 poinf lead, buf fhe Trojans :iacked in fhe lasf few minufes of fhe game and fell behind 50-47. The Trojans again wenf fo Hilo fhis 'lime fo lock horns wifh fhe Vikings of Hilo High School. This game was also a see-saw baffle up fo fhe fhird qua rfer. In fhe fhird quarfer fhe Trojans waxed hof on fhe floor and led wifh a I0 poinf lead. The Trojans held fhis lead up fo abouf fhree minufes of play in fhe fourfh quarfer when fhe Vikings broke loose and leff fhe Trojans behind 50-45. Again Pahala was ahead wifh a I0 poin+ lead wifh only abouf four minufes leff in fhe fourfh quarfer: buf, bad passes and misplays enabled fhe Daggers +o pull in fronf as fhey beaf Pahala 55-53. On fheir home courf again fhe Trojans were ou+ for revenge as fhey had fallen back in fheir firsf 3 games. The Trojans pla ed aggressive ball and ouf played fhe Daggers as fhey won 58-47. The people who wifnessed fhis game will never forgef if as fhe Trojans, for fhe firsf fime since fhey enfered fhe B.l.l.F. compefifion, beaf fhe Vikings 62-57. Alfhough lacking heighf fhey played smarf bas- kefball and oufplayed fhe Hilo feam. Pahala was hosf fo fhe Baldwin Bears of Maui on fheir homecoming game.
