The Dragons came away with a hard-fought 39-0 victory over the Memphis Cyclones on the night of Oct. 2. Spirits were high when fans and students left the stands to congratulate the players on the field. When the coaches shook hands after the game, as is customary, Memphis Coach Monzingo showed un- necessary resentment towards the Paducah win by punching Paducah Coach Tony Martinez in the face. Although Monzingo's unsportsmanlike attitude caused an uproar, good spirits prevail- ed as Paducah fans and players celebrated the Homecoming victory.
