,Adminisfrutars Friends: It is generally agreed that the elementary school unit is an important agency for the functioning of d e m o c r a c y, because we , The Goodwin School Faculty, are con- cerned that all the children of all the people attend our e le m e n t a r y school. There the foundations of democracy must be carefully laid. Whatever else maybe included in the curriculum for this elemen- tary school, there certainly must be in- cluded tho s e activities and experiences necessary for whole some, happy and creative living in the most important state of children's development. Sincerely, Ray Felty, Principal Goodwin School ,QV - at iff., 29 so 2: 'Q 'Lax Dear Alamo School Boys and Girls, Each year plans are made to welcome a new group of beginners. Most of you came as visitors in the spring before you start- ed to school the following fall. I remem- ber those little boys and girls who were excited to come as the visitors of little first graders. Then before long, you were First Graders, finding school a wonderful experience. Some of you are already Third Graders looking forward to going to Goodwin School another year, You will be missed in the Alamo School as have many other boys and girls who have gone on. But remember, I am always e a g e r ly watching those little bovs and girls who came to Alamo as be- gi .ners or joined the group later - wishing the very best to you, As the years pass, I hope you can remem- ber happy times in the Alamo School and always have a warm place in your hearts for this school and your primary teachers. Your Principal, 22 23 24 25

Education consists of all of the experiences which one may acquire in the process of living. A part of it goes on in institutions which are d e sig n e d especially for the learner. Here in school, it is the aim of this administration to provide an atmos- phere that will be c onducive to the de- velopment of the fourfold nature of the in- dividual: Mental, Physical, Moral, and Spiritual. Here we mingle together in our play life and in our social activities. In our more serious moments, we share in the solution of our problems. It is here that we learn to live with people, Sincerely yours, ffwf H , W, Cross, Principal Administration We are living in a time in history when no man dares say it cannot be done, In this day of man-made satellites and mechani- cal power of untold possibilities, we face a future such as mankind has never faced before. I have faith in our young people to meet their obligations just as our fore- fathers had faith in the younger generation of their time. We must not lose sight of human and spiritual values as we progress with the age of science. My best wishes go with each of you as you advance in life's work, Alton Farr, Superintendent
