1969 TOMAHAWK Pacolet High School Pacolet, South Carolina Dedication..................p. 2 Student Life................p. 4 Faculty § Administration, .p. 16 Classes..................p. 24 Honors...................p. 56 Organizations............p. 64 Athletics................p. 86 Advertisements.........p. 108 Charlene Pearson, Editor Paulette Mack, Assistant Editor Amazingly soft-spoken for such a giant of a man, Mr. Dover has become in his years at Pacolet High School a trusted friend, a willing helper, and a qualified advisor to both students and faculty members. He sacrifices many early morning and late afternoon hours to meet the responsibility of safely transporting hundreds of students to and from school daily. The Junior and Senior play casts, the Jr.-Sr. decorating committee, and the TOMAHAWK Staff are only a few of the organizations that are indebted to him for his assistance with their various projects. His friendly smile, courteous manner, and fine character earn the respect and admiration of all who know him. 2 The surest way not to fail is to determine to succeed. The senior class chose this motto with the realization that if one is to truly succeed, he must be not only determined but also well trained in his particular field of endeavor. Such training takes various forms and is the concern of each faculty member. We feel, however, that one particular member of our faculty is outstanding in his efforts to insure the success of his students. From his capable instruction students master skills which may lead to productive careers and worthwhile hobbies. To honor this individual, who best represents our motto, we, the senior class, gratefully dedicate the 1969 TOMAHAWK to MR. JOHN DOVER. 3 4 1968 Homecoming Queen candidates: left to right, Lyon Wilkins, Vickie Teaster, Debbie Sherbert, 1967 queen— Jan Guyton, Judy McGaha, Christie Howell, Harriette Harvey, Kay Guyton, Brenda George, Sandy Burns, June Allen, Janet Anthony.
