To one whose patience, cooperativeness, loyalty, outstanding spirit and untiring service is known by all students at Pacolet High School, The 1964 TOMAHAWK is honored and gratefully dedicates its pages of one year's pictorial history to you, MR. ALVIN QUINN. Do you remember when P. H. S. began her expansion program? It was in the fall of 1961 when everyone was ready to begin a new school year. As the year progressed, many changes were made which gave the school a new look. The 1962 school year ended, but the new additions kept progressing. Alas, as another school year began, even more improvements were made in our Dear Alma Mater. Finally at the close of the 1963 school term, the school's expansion program had been completed. With the improvements to the old building and the new buildings, upon our school dawned a new look and may the students at P. H. S. strive to keep it that way always. 4 ADMINISTRATION TRUSTEES SEATED, LEFT TO RIGHT: Alvin Ravan, O. J. Robinette, J. R. Alley, rock, Jr., M. W. Carter, F. L Lancaster. NOT PICTURED: Dr. R. H. C. ATHLETIC SNAPS 72 Being editor of the 1964 TOMAHAWK has made me realize the handling of many responsibilities. Working with the staff and the advisor has brought pleasure and profit, as well as a sense of accomplishment. Publishing an annual requires many hours of hard work, but there are also many enjoyable moments. The trip to the Yearbook Workshop at Furman University is something we shall never forget. The congeniality of the staff and their ability to laugh when things looked dark made each of us work to do our best. We have tried to give you a pictorial essay of this school year. From the first day of school, through long winter days, to graduation, we have tried to emphasize every facet of school life. The staff alone could not have produced this book. We wish to thank the faculty, the administrators, the advertisers, and especially you students who have supported us. Special thanks go to Mrs. Judy Bishop, our advisor, without whose knowledge and guidance this book would not have been possible. With mixed happiness and sadness, we present the 1964 TOMAHAWK in hopes that it will bring much pleasure in the years to come. 73 IN MEMORIAM DR. ROBERT D. HILL SEPTEMBER 8, 1898 - MARCH 17, 1964 To one who has done so much for Pacolet High School and for the community and for whom we can do so little in return, we, with this page in the 1964 TOMAHAWK, try to repay part of our debt to Dr. Robert D.
