It would be nice to hold such a council around such a table with such a President presiding, for another purpose than that of having a picture taken. This doesn't mean, however, that the officers of the Elementary School are unfriendly towards one another. Connie Thayer, President of the Eighth Sail on, ob ship of state Grade, smiles graciously at Ann Browder, Polly Hume, Edith Kepke, Mary EitzRandolph, and Ruth Wasson, heads of the Third through Seventh Elementary respectively, and they immediately feel at home. New presidents or monitors are elected so often, that by the end of the year, several people have been honored in an official capacity, and everyone has had a chance to get better acquainted with everyone else. A democratic form of government surpassed only by the Student Council. 9

SHINING MORNING FACE 'LWith reading and writing, and paints and plays, and history and music to fill their days' '... the gingham and plaid' clad youngsters of the Elementary School are climbing the stairs of learning in search of the lamp of knowledgefor maybe even a cap and gown. The stairs are new, and some are new to the stairs, hut donit think that keeps anyone from taking them two at a time! The Sixth Graders have a few more honestftofgoodness steps to tread since the pentf house is no mere product of a Utopian imagination. Work and play with lots more ahead. Going up? Just as the ivy clmgs and climbs
