Trudy Zanderburgen waits pa- tiently for the start of the race. The Pacifica girl ' s track team began the ' 81 season with hopes of bringing home the Empire League title. This title looks very possible to the squad, for they have started off with a big win against Los Al. Senior Bridget Brill has provided great leadership for the squad and is expected to advance to CIF. Sophomore Trudy Zanderburgen and fresh- man Kristy Engels also play major roles for the team. Pacifica girls ' tennis team started their season with high hopes and spirit. They won the first match before falling to Los Alamitos. The next few matches were lost by the mari- ners, but they soon came back and beat Kenne- dy 10 to 8. All the girls on the team put all efforts into the season. A few girls really stood out though. These few were the varsity teams own Karen Knobloch, Kim Norton, while on the J.V. team there was Melanie Concepcion. Although their hard work and dedication did not pay off as well as they had hoped, they had fun and perfected their moves. A GAME OF LOVE

Bridget Brill, Jen- nifer Scovel, and Trudy Zandbergen were selected to the 1981 All Empire League Team. Team Captains Jennifer Scovel and Bridget Brill led the squad all year. In addition to qualifying for C.I.F., Brid- get was Most Valuable Performer. Georgia Gardiner was selected Most Improved Runner.
