For the stu- dents who stayed on campus, there were many cxci ting activities ranging from ice cream feed contests to tourist, army fatigue, and western dress up days. Other activities include the solving the Rubik cube contest, almost anything goes competition, pie eating contest, racquetball tourna- ment, and the iceblock race. Snow was brought to the campus for a snowman building contest, which ended up a snowball fight However, the activities were still not enough to keep the seniors from using their off-cam pus passes. The thought of having good hot lunch at one of the local fast food restaurants was too much of a temptation. 109

Pacifica ' s production of Wait Until Dark was an exer- cise in theatrical terror. The plot revolved around a blind woman named Suzi who unwittingly came into possession oi a musical doll that contained several kilos of heroin. An unscrupulous thug called Roat enlisted the help of two small time con men in an attempt to coerce Suzi into handing the doll over to them, to no avail. A jealous nine year old girl had stolen the doll. By the lime that the doll was back in Suzi ' s possession, she was aware of who the three men were, and understood why the doll was so impor- tant to them. Bravely Suzi decided to keep the doll out of the criminal ' s hands. This set the stage for a suspenseful life or death confrontation between Roat and Suzi that took place in almost complete darkness.
